Electric Ascent

A study in contrast and narrative tension. This piece depicts an alien figure—clad in a spacesuit and cowboy hat—caught in the moment of abduction. I utilized jagged, expressive linework for the tractor beam to visually represent the chaotic, electric panic of the event. This serves as a direct juxtaposition to the background, where I used softly blended deep-space tones to create a feeling of stillness, as if time has frozen around the abduction. The goal was to capture a whimsical subject within an ethereal, almost tragic atmosphere.

This was a promotional design made for the Hackathon RowdyHacks, ran my an organization called ACM UTSA. I was honored to be a part of the team that delivered the largest Hackathon in South Texas! This art work was freehand Digital art, I was given a general idea of the theme and came up with an Alien with a Cowboy Hat floating in space as he gets abducted.
